ACCREDITATIONS / PROFICIENCY TETING / PERMITS
At MACS Lab, we stay
on
top of every trend in accuracy and quality control by participating in
relevant standards and analysis programs. We consider these programs
investments
in our future and your peace of mind, so we take them seriously.
Additionally,
we maintain vital industry accreditations; these require an additional
commitment of our time and energy, but we wouldn't have it any other
way.
Accreditations:
MACS Lab is accredited by the American Industrial Hygiene Association
to
perform analysis for lead in soil, lead in paint, lead in air, and lead
in dust. The American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) and
A2LA
have been appointed by the United States Environmental Protection
Agency
to accredit laboratories for this purpose. Each laboratory site
actually
performing the analysis of lead in paint, soil, dust, and air must be
accredited
on its own. Some big companies have many sites but not all of their
sites
are accredited. MACS Lab, Inc. invites you to visit the AHIA
and A2LA web sites and see if your
lab
is there. If not we sincerely invite you to use our services and
be confident that we will provide you with the highest quality analysis
of your samples.
MACS Lab participates in the National Institute of Standards and
Technology
(NIST) NVLAP program, and has earned full accreditation for
bulk and airborne asbestos analysis. (Accreditation by NVLAP is
mandatory
for all AHERA analysis.) Accreditation requires consistent, successful
proficiency testing and full, on-site laboratory evaluation by NIST
inspectors.
The laboratory must maintain a fully-implemented quality control
program.
Department
of Health Services (DOHS) ELAP, #2027 California Certification for Asbestos in
bulk materials

for all determination of hazardous waste analysis and for lead in
drinking
water and asbestos in water. We are accredited for lead and
copper
in drinking water, asbestos in drinking water and bulk asbestos
analysis.
Proficiency Testing:
National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health,
Proficiency Analytical
Testing (NIOSH PAT), Laboratory #11172
MACS Lab participates in the PAT program to demonstrate laboratory
proficiency
in NIOSH 7400A fiber counting. Our laboratory remains proficient in the

that have been quantified by NIOSH. Participating laboratories
demonstrate
their proficiency by measuring their results against those of NIOSH.
